The tests, in plain language
| Test | Our standard | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Colour fastness to washing | Grade 4 or better | Four cycles at 40°C; no visible transfer onto white cotton |
| Dimensional stability | Under 3% | Measured after a test wash; sizes are cut with the allowance added |
| Fabric inspection | Max 20 points / 100 yd | Defects scored by length; failing rolls never reach the cutting table |
| Seam strength | 11 stitches per inch | Four-inch top hem, pull-tested at the corners |
| pH of finished fabric | 5.5 – 7.5 | Neutral fabric is gentler on sensitive skin |
| Weight loss after 10 washes | Under 4% | Predicts how a hotel set looks in its second year |

Thread count, honestly
Thread count is the number of warp and weft yarns in a square inch. On single-ply fabric it is a fair measure of fineness. On multi-ply fabric it is arithmetic: four cheap yarns twisted together are counted as four, and a 250-count sheet is sold as 1000.
Everything we weave is single-ply, from 210 to 600, and we publish the GSM alongside.
